Provider Description

Joshua Pearl, MT-BC, is the founder of the Music Therapy Center for Psychedelic Integration where he works with individuals before, after, and between their medicine journeys. Joshua has developed music-centered methodologies utilizing trauma-informed, existential, humanistic, analytic, parts-oriented, and transpersonal frameworks, helping his clients by developing a musical/therapeutic alliance, tapping into their innate musical intelligence and unique musical identity to address life transitions, heal creative wounds, and empower self-expression in conjunction with the healing power of psychedelic medicines. In addition to his music therapy training, he holds degrees in Piano Performance and Learning Theory and carries knowledge gained over decades of professional collaborations with dancers, poets, actors, and an extraordinary breadth of musical teachers and healers from diverse traditions.

Piano Performance and Educational Theory Degrees from Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music OC'89

Music Therapy Training at Marylhurst University and degree from Pacific University, Graduated Summa Cum Laude, 2019 PU'19

25 years professional musician;  2 years full-time patient managing acute skin pain and a life-threatening auto-immune disease;  4 years clinical music therapist helping people facing the end-of-life (through Peace Health Hospice, Vancouver, WA) and working with veterans, those with disordered substance use, and adults recovering from extreme effects of trauma (at Cedar Hills Inpatient Psych Hospital, Beaverton, OR).
